This trip was a last minute shot in the dark google search that became one of the most enjoyable weekends my wife and I have ever experienced. 5 minutes from the drop-off point we arrived at the spring. What a beautiful place. Crystal clear, refreshingly cold water surrounded by kids having a blast on rope swings and friendly regulars grilling up hamburgers, sausage dogs and much more. Music playing, laughter and great conversation everywhere. WOW, what a scene! Heading downstream, the trip was effortless and peaceful. An hour into our return I did begin to wonder if we had gotten off the trail but a phone call was met with a friendly voice assuring us her son had just passed us and we were on the right track! So, take your time and enjoy the scenery and the peacefulness! My wife and I lost our son to an industrial accident in October of 2025. You can imagine what our last 6 months have been like. This trip gave us a little of our life back!

This place was absolutely breath taking. The only complaint I have is that after spending the day at the spring. The kayak trip back to Holmes creek felt very long. But it was a great thing that me and my bf decided to do. We also were not prepared on what to bring. This place was definitely more of a local hangout. But in the future we will bring out cooler with drinks, sandwiches, & etc. We will be back next year! If you are staying in Destin then it is only an hour away, it’s definitely worth the trip.

My husband and I travelled from Dallas, Texas to north of Bonifay to visit family. I looked up a place for us to go canoeing. I chose this place based on the reviews. They were not wrong. Family owned and operated and the best money we spent on the trip. I called and got a 2 person canoe and she told me exactly what I needed for the trip. We brought a cooler full of food and water, bug spray and sun screen. Two of the most polite young gentlemen drove us to the drop off point and gave us fantastic directions. We stopped at the springs on our trip back for a few hours and then barely paddled downstream back. Since we didn’t hardly paddle and we weren’t in a hurry it took us 2.5 hours back. It would take 90 minutes with not much more effort. We weren’t in a hurry. The water was so clear. When we got back, the family invited us 2 old folks to take the slide and board. We did 🤣. It was awesome. Then I changed in their changing room and they have the most clean port-a-potty I’ve ever been in. Best 60 dollars for a canoe experience for the day and remember to bring a tip for the young guys. We will make this a stop every time we go to visit family again.
